FROM THE SPIRIT OF LOVE

They said it couldn't be done. They said it shouldn't be done. So we did it. We went as far as you can possibly go, excluding the Moon. In April this year we undertook a week long, Smash-And-grab tour of Australia, and we HAD it, Mate. Even after a 24-hour flight, jet lag couldn't stop us taking over down under. We're always in the wrong time zone anyway...

Our sub-hemispherical jaunt took in The Byron Bay Blues Festival; The Basement &The Metro in Sydney; and The Toff & The Corner Hotel in Melbourne.  By the time we got to Melbourne word had spread like forest fire; things were hotting up, but we disappeared like the teases we are, leaving behind us a trail of broken hearts (mainly our tour manager's) and curled up ten dollar notes. But not before we'd checked in with Chopper Reed, Australia's most notorious Gangster!... Nick Reynolds, Mouth-Harp Wizard and also our resident Conceptual Artist, presented the great Ozzie Mangler with his own head, cast in Bronze. Chopper was delighted (phew!); he had his picture taken with us for The Age newspaper and came onstage to introduce the band at the Toff in Melbourne. 'This is the Alabama 3, the most famous motherfucking band to come out of feckin' England! That's what I say, anyway!' We weren’t going to argue with him!

Despite blowing the float on excess baggage charges, the tour was a rip roaring success... Ozzie Bammies can expect to see more of us...

The Alabama 3 studio is now up and running and work on our next Long Player is underfoot. Our Twelve Step Programme has generated a cornucopia of musical delights; we've got more tracks than a Wedgie from Possilpark! Expect to see the first results of our Promethean experiments in the Autumn. Be Afraid.

And in the meantime, we'll be setting the festival circuit on fire once more this summer. The more Global Warming advances the better it gets for us pagan Sun Worshippers...join us for the Apocalypse!
