LONDON EXPERIMENTALISTS WITH MORE MUSICAL BLENDING

REVOLVER SOUL

**** 4stars
Alabama 3's eight album sounds at times like Massive Attack delving into blues, soul and funk inside a deep melting pot.
Revolver Soul's dark beats provide a wholesome base for the band to add their wide variety of musical flavours and those tastes get contorted in all sorts of directions - most powerfully and effectively in the vaguely country, anti-war anthem 'Vietnamisation' [sic]
With a variety of guest appearances - notably Razorlight's Johnny Borrel on 'She Blessed Me' and The Pogues' Shane McGowan on 'Fix It' - this is a record which will once again confirm Alabama 3 as a unique proposition, both in the studio and through their renowned live shows.
