LET THE CAGED BIRD SING – ACOUSTIC VERSION

FROM ‘LAST TRAIN TO MASHVILLE VOL 2'
TAB BY ROCK FREEBASE

Tuning – EBEG#B  capo 5th fret. This puts the guitar in open A=AEAC#E.  
n.b. I don’t use a top E so take it off!
The numbers refer to frets above the capo.  
0 (zero) means play the string unfretted.
H   = hammer on
P    = pull off
(S) = play note with slide
= slide up
=  slide down
T   =  play with thumb right hand
M  = play with middle finger right hand
I    = play with index finger right hand
R  = play with ring finger right hand
When more than one note is played with the thumb use a ‘broad’ downstroke.  I use a thumbpick and a fingerpick (index finger).  
Almost forgot:
B  =  bend up. Slide on ring finger ( I use a ¾ size)
∩ =  let note hang
X  = dampen string with left hand index finger except when otherwise stated

This bit is quite tricky as the thumb is doing some off-beat grace notes (I think). I’ve transcribed it as best I can, but you’ll need to listen to the record to get the timing.  I could do it exactly, but it would take ages and it’s almost time for my afternoon nap!
